FALL TRYOUT SCHEDULE COMING....

 

GIRLS SOCCER

BOYS GOLF

Tryouts begin August 15th at Longshore at 3:30pm and will run everyday through August 20th.  Matches begin the following week, so cuts will be made during tryout week.

GIRLS SWIM AND DIVE

Pre-season practices in the afternoons (time TBA) beginning on Monday 8/15.
 
All NEW swimmers will need to be able to do all 4 swimming strokes, turns, and starts well, and complete a set of 10 x 50 meters @1 min to show a minimum of fitness.

Those interested in diving will be put into contact with our Diving Coach, Amy Guster.

Pre Season Aug 22-26 at Staples 8am-1pm
Tryouts        Aug 30-Sep 2 3-530pm

Meetings Set For Returnees, Rising Frosh

All returning players should attend a meeting with head coach Russell Oost-Lievense at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, in the Staples High School cafeteria.

In addition, incoming freshmen (current 8th graders) who plan to try out for Staples soccer should click on this link for a Zoom meeting — it’s also June 1, at 8 p.m.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball practice / tryout schedule
 
Volleyball tryouts and practice, for all levels, begins on 8/25 at 3:00 and will continue each afternoon until school begins. After a team is established, practice will be held every afternoon from 3:15 till 5:30.
 
For 10th -12th grade.  Practice will also be held on 8/27 at 8:30 till 11:30.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
 

First Day of Official Practice is Thursday, August 25 from 3pm-5pm

Located at the Staples High School Outdoor Track

 

Preseason (Before School Starts)

8/25-8/26 Practice at 3pm

Saturday 8/27 Practice at 10am – Location: To Be Announced

 

First Day of School - Tuesday August 30th

Week of Monday 8/29 – Friday 9/2 Practice 3pm-5:30pm

Location: Staples High School Outdoor Track

 

Student athletes interested in being a member of the Staples Girls XC program should meet the following criteria:

  • Be able to run 3 miles without stopping
  • Run 1 mile continuously in under 9 minutes
